this is an introduction to the topic of duckstance. For all of you who have no idea what duckstance is: duckstance is a special way of mounting the binding on a snowboard / ski on which the feet point slightly outwards - like a duck.

chapter 1 is about different opinions on duckstance

chapter 2 answers the question "to duck or not to duck?"

chapter 3 tells you how to mount duck - properly

chapter 4 concludes my personal experience

chapter 5 is a conclusion and enlightens the limitations of duckstance

as this stance initially just got used on snowboards you may ask yourself as a skier:

why should i mount my bindings duck?

it is the  purpose of  this article to  clear this question. actually  there is,  as  often in life, no clear  answer  and  signle  truth.   due to this  you won`t find a  conclusion at the end of  this  review  in which i  tell  you to mount duck or  not to  mount duck. what i do want here  is  to  collect  and  summarize  all  the available informations on duckstance and to let  you decide  in the end if you give it a go or not.

of course i`m going to share my experience with  riding duckstance  and  of  course  my point of view  may be biased. but i try to be as  objective  as  possible  and  deliver  you some hard facts.

now that all this is clear we may  proceed to the first chapter
